Cocoon Tie
In this class, Gorgone teaches the Cocoon Tie with their model Alma.
This surprising tie is very different from the usually highly engineered harnesses presented by Gorgone, offering beautiful old-school aesthetics and a very restrictive feeling. It can be used for floor play or suspension, and will be particularly appealing to those who enjoy playing with exposure and helplessness.
This tie can be easily modified to suit different bodies or aesthetics, however it can be quite unpredictable in the air and shouldn't be suspended without special attention and care for the possibility of nerve compression or slippage of the wraps over the shoulders.
We recommend experimenting with it in partial suspensions before attempting to suspend fully. You can also use a pulley to lift the whole body at once instead of going up by increments as demonstrated in the class.

If I make a modification to the wrist binding to help my partner relax their shoulders would this still be suspend-able? (Using a modified single Column tie and on the other arm using a kind of tension lock so it's able to control how the gap they have.)Show replies (1)

You should always modify a tie to suit your partner's needs. If you are not sure if the variation will work properly we advise to have a skilled instructor check the variation before suspending. If this is not possible, you can try it out very carefully, with another person spotting you if possible, and paying extra attention to how your tie reacts to being loaded. Communicate with your partner to ask how they feel and be ready go take them down if it does not function the way it should.
