Motion & Intention
In this class, Gorgone discusses the importance of posture, movement, body language and spatiality in a rope session with their model Alma.
How you choose to place yourself around your partner, finding your points of balance and imbalance, exploring each other's centre of gravity and being intentional about how you move your own and your partner's body will greatly affect the mood of your rope scenes.
Everyone's body and mobility is different, so it is important to explore and develop your own language. This class doesn't aim to tell you what to do or not to do, but rather to invite you to explore this communication tool and find what works for you and your partners.
Shibari is not about "rope - on the body" but about "the body - in rope".

Thank you so much for watching! We recommend checking out Anna Bone's course titled "Rope as a Language" (https://shibaristudy.com/programs/rope-as-a-language) if you'd like to learn more about rope/body handling techniques❤️

This was way more insightful and knowledgeable than I was expecting (and my expectation was already high). Thank you for this, this is something that I've not seen taught anywhere and the flow/interaction between rigger and rope model is something I enjoy more than the rope work itself. Is there a way to save videos on your account?Show replies (1)

This class actually took tears out of y eyes... The way Gorgone explains and shwos us the many possibilities is very clear but also full of intentions and emotions. This is definitely my favorite class of the course. Thanks a lot for sharing so much knowledge!CPApril 23, 2021
Great class! So many of us riggers are focused more on technique and rope and knots that it's a good reminder of the body mechanics and interaction of the session. What was that at the end? "The body is the first tool, the rope is second."
