Floor Play Flow
In this shibari tutorial course, hua hua teaches a series of rope flows together with her model Dantianshi, specifically curated for enjoying all the various sensations and emotions of tying on the floor.
You don’t need complex ties or advanced techniques to create rope scenes filled with intentionality, engagement and emotion. In fact, you don’t even need to move your scenes beyond the floor. In this multi-part course, hua hua explores a variety of floor-based flows and partial suspensions with a focus on making your ropes intentional, maintaining a strong line of communication between both tying partners, and discovering a spectrum of sensations and emotions. Each tie is designed with plenty of room for adaptation and with different intents and styles – some focused on suffering and endurance, others more on eroticism and connection – to better suit various moods, desires and even rope dynamics.
In the Beast Tie sequence, hua hua and Dantianshi demonstrate a simple-yet-sensual floor-based tie that invites a slower pace and softer interactions. The first video focuses on setting the tone for the tie with advice for how to create a more connective or erotic scene. The second part of this class uses a suspension point to gently elevate then hands and feet, allowing for more vulnerability and different options for play.
The Armbinder flow is a sequence with more direct erotic intent. As hua hua explains, deliberate movements and purposeful physical contact are utilized in this tie to convey forcefulness and heighten anticipation and a sense of vulnerability for the person being tied. Take your time too: the gradual pace of this sensual sequence allows plenty of space to build tension and gauge reactions, so giving the person in ropes room to react and choose if they wish to continue or not. hua hua also offers valuable insights for how to build upon this arm binder and create an even more erotically charged rope scene.
In the Shrimp Tie sequence, hua hua explores a classic shibari shape specifically intended to be more strenuous for the person being tied, particularly on the lower back and hips. Beginning with a detailed explanation of how to build the tie using a minimalist TK and an agura, hua hua offers her tips and tricks to make things more or less challenging and ensure that the only stress points in the tie are intentional. Once the tie is constructed, it’s time to play – as hua hua says during this demo sequence, don’t be tempted to start adding things or changing positions immediately but rather sit and observe. It’s a tie that allows you to play with multiple states of mind, sensations and even types of suffering without changing any rope, so give those feelings time to develop and build up for slower, more deliberate semenawa sessions.
This class is suitable, in part, for beginners. However, we recommend some prior experience with uplines before attempting to recreate the partial suspensions in some of these ties. Always remember to keep your skill set in mind when applying techniques from any Shibari Study class to your own rope practice. As hua hua explains, remember to take time to negotiate and discuss what style and intention is suitable for your dynamic. Before beginning to experiment with these ties, decide in advance how you will use them, check in regularly during and remember that play can be stopped at any time if either partner feels uncomfortable.
