Handling Drill For Better Frictions
In this shibari tutorial, Fuoco explains the concept of ‘making rainbows’ in rope, with tips and pointers for how to avoid making rainbows but fold your rope instead for more efficient tying.
Oftentimes, better rope handling comes down to our most basic techniques and the good habits we’ve picked up along the way – or the bad ones we might not even realize are impacting our ties. In this beginner-friendly drills class, Fuoco focuses on ‘making rainbows’, a rope handling habit that can lead to uneven rope ends and less effective frictions. Then, using Munter hitches to demonstrate, she offers an alternative approach, folding the rope where it needs to turn, for better tie building.
This rope bondage course is suitable for beginner levels up and does not require a tying partner. We recommend that everyone spend some time drilling shibari fundamentals, no matter how advanced your practice.
