Ichinawa | One Rope Play (FREE)

Tying with one rope only is often called Ichinawa, from the Japanese "ichi" (one) and "nawa" (rope). In this video, Gorgone demonstrates in a short session with her model Jewerlyandfire what can be done with a single rope by using and combining the concepts and techniques that she teaches in the Shibari Beginner Course.

Shibari can be highly technical and intricate but before loosing ourselves in the fancy techniques, we should remember that bondage can also be a sensual, playful and emotional practice. The rope is an extension of our body. We can use it to restrain, move, pull, push, squeeze... It can be soft and gentle like a caress or rough and assertive. The panel of sensations and emotions available is infinite!

Rope is only a tool to communicate; it’s the language, not the subject. The key elements of a rope dialogue are rhythm (fast/slow), space (close/far) and tightness (strong/soft). Pauses and variations of those elements are important to keep the dialogue dynamic and interesting.
