Mini Arm Ties
In this step-by-step shibari course, Fred Hatt teaches four simple arm ties – using only single- and double-column ties and minimal rope – with his model Briki.
In the Armbinder class, Fred demonstrates a straightforward and effective behind-the-back armbinder that uses only a double-column tie with some creative placement.
In the Pyramid Cuff class, Fred shows how just a beginner double-column tie can be used to create a versatile tie for play with the arms secured together over the head.
In the Elbow Cuff class, the arms are bound together at the elbows with the hands up towards the face – a great starting point for building on the tie but also perfect for playing with on its own.
The Tengu class teaches a simplified version of the classic Tengu tie, which creates a vulnerable and chest opening position without putting too much rope on the body itself.
These classes are suitable for all levels. Always feel free to adapt these arm ties to your partner's flexibility or preference and to experiment with different variations of these ties/concepts according to your own imagination.
For those who don’t already know how to tie the basic knots used in these classes, you can learn the Single-Column Tie or Double-Column Tie in our Beginner Course. For those who do, any single-column tie of your choice can be used in this class.
