Patternless Futomomo

Unlike many other futomomos which rely on a more structured banded pattern to secure the calf to the thigh, this ‘patternless’ variation utilizes more irregular rope placement for a tie that not only looks different to other futomomos, it feels different. As Fuoco explains in the class, this tie is comfortable and great for rope bottoms who might struggle with the pressure on the shin of other banded futomomos. For riggers, taking a less structured approach is also an opportunity to learn to approach tying more intuitively.
