Physical Rope: Ground
In this shibari class and demonstration, Tifereth explores techniques for physical rope on the ground with her model Irkalla.
One of Tifereth’s favorite ways of tying involves a very physical, hands-on approach on the ground. This technique is less about perfect knots and frictions (or any particular knots and frictions at all) and more about using your rope and body as a tool to press, pull and stretch with intention to push your tying partner to their happy limits.
In the first part of the course, Tifereth demonstrates how just a simple rope can be used to play with body manipulation and feelings of compression, exposure, and more. Her advice? Let go of the idea that you have to tie anything formal and approach from a place of playful exuberance.
In the demonstration video, Tifereth expands on the basic drill taught in the first part of the course, incorporating a slightly more structured approach with only one goal: to make Irkalla feel good, bound and contained in a position that she likes.
The techniques taught in this class can be incorporated into any practice, no matter your level of experience. As Tifereth explains, this is a “partner sport”, so be sure to check in with your tying partner as you set your intentions for this exercise. And do clear some space for play – you’re going to need it.
This is the first of three “Physical Rope” focused courses led by Tifereth. Keep an eye out for “Physical Rope: Partials” and “Physical Rope: Suspension” – coming soon.

I’m so happy you have Tiffereth as part of your site. I haven’t seen anything from her since her Peach Tie so this is wonderful. I also enjoy using rope as a rough body play tool, so this class was fun. Can’t wait to explore more.
