Running Man
In this shibari course, Hajime Kinoko teaches his version of the Running Man suspension with his model hua hua.
Retro dance move or your next favorite vertical suspension? The ‘Running Man’ suspension is tied from standing to create an upright shape with one bent leg raised in front and the other bent behind – sort of a mid-sprint, but in ropes!
However, as you’ll learn, upright doesn’t necessarily mean easy. As Kinoko explains, for this tie to work you need to carefully maintain position and balance with meticulous tying, tension and body manipulation, all of which he demonstrates in detail in the class. Get it wrong and you’ll struggle with tilting, uneven load distribution and a difficult-to-maintain tie… Get it right and you’ll have a beautiful and well-balanced Running Man worthy of Kinoko himself.
This class is aimed at advanced learners looking for a new vertical suspension shape that’s as rewarding as it is challenging. We recommend that both tying partners have plenty of suspension experience.
