Self-Hug Tie
In this step-by-step shibari tutorial, Bänana teaches a Self-Hug partial suspension with her model Fred.
A classic and minimalistic position with the arms wrapped around the backs of the legs, this compact semi-suspension is achieved without the use of a chest harness. Instead, it uses a straightforward Basket Tie and lacing up the lower part of the legs to achieve a playful partial. However, despite not involving too many technical elements, this tie is great for challenging your rope- and body-handling skills. In this class, Bänana demonstrates exactly what you’ll need to keep in mind to achieve the final ‘self-hug’ position as effectively and safely as possible.
This class is suitable for intermediate levels and beyond. Always remember to keep your skill set in mind when applying techniques from any Shibari Study class to your own practice, particularly if you intend to utilize this tie in semi-suspensions.
