Semenawa Bamboo Ties
In this course Tamandua and his model Briki teach four ties using a bamboo on the body.
These ties and positions are perfect to implement Semenawa into your practice if you do not have a suspension point or prefer to enjoy Floor Play.
Although there is no suspension involved in those ties, they are not suitable for beginners as they involve a certain level of technical and emotional experience to be performed and experienced safely.

Would the spread legs bamboo tie be a good option to suspend, as I assume that the pressure will be mainly on the front of the upper legs?Show replies (1)

For this particular tie and tutorial, Tamandua did not suspend. However, given the structure of the tie, there may be an opportunity to tie onto the middle of the bamboo to lift from. We recommend people play with the tie as is appropriate to their skill level and risk profile.😊

I wonder how thick in diameter and how long bamboo is used. Thank you for answering :)Show replies (1)

For bamboo used on the body (not as a suspension point), any thin piece will work. You can find bamboo sticks at a gardening store for example! About 3-5cm diameter and 1m length would be fine.

Would it be possible to get a teppo tutorial without the bamboo?Show replies (1)

We have two variations of Teppo taught by Gestalta being edited and going live in the coming weeks!
