Tengu & Waist Predicament
In this class, Tamandua teaches a Tengu and Waist Predicament with his model Elio.
This face-up partial suspension uses a slightly modified Tengu pattern as its basis, accentuating the open posture of the chest with a hip opening cross-legged stance for the legs for a position that, while accessible for many body types and levels of flexibility, is exposing and plays with vulnerability too. The Tengu harness is adapted to allow front loading without pulling on the neck for a more sustainable tie, while waist rope turns up the intensity in the final position.
This tutorial can be adapted for TKs or any other type of chest harness structure that supports front loading. It’s the perfect entry to elevating your floor play a little bit at a time.
