In this shibari tutorial, Tifereth teaches her chest-free Tenshi Harness together with her models Irkalla, Fuoco and Mickael.

Tifereth first developed the Tenshi Harness back in 2016, and since then it’s taken off as a versatile upper body harness that avoids some of the sustainability challenges associated with harnesses that incorporate ropes across the chest. This course will teach you everything you need to know about the Tenshi: from how it was developed and got its angel-inspired name to harness construction, safety, and how to tailor it to different body types, as well as how to attach uplines and use it in space.

The first part of the course offers a step-by-step demonstration on how to build the Tenshi, with important considerations for tensioning as well as tips for rope bottoms on how to help (or, rather, not help) to ensure correct rope placement.

The ‘Tenshi Safety’ video explores considerations for risk-reduction as you tie, with special attention given to movement, body manipulation, tension and line placement, and how they may impact the nerves of the upper and lower arms.

In the ‘Tailoring the Tenshi’, Tifereth demonstrates subtle but important adjustments for tweaking the tie to better suit different anatomies and levels of mobility.

Finally, the ‘Suspension Lines’ video explores where and how to attach suspension lines to the Tenshi for more experienced practitioners who are ready to take it into the air.

This course is great for expanding your harness repertoire and for learners looking for alternative to TKs. However, please keep your skill set in mind when applying techniques from these classes and only use this harness in suspension if that is already a part of your rope practice.
