In this class, Fred Hatt explains and deconstructs the principle functions of the two main families of TK with his model Mio.

What is a Takate Kote (TK)? How does it work and what makes it work? Stem or stemless TK: how are they different? What is ‘high hands’ anyway?

In this class, Fred will share some of his insights regarding key aspects of TK mechanics by demonstrating how TK’s vary in their construction across various families.
 The aim of the class is to help consolidate knowledge and demonstrate how every choice you make in rope is, as in life, a compromise. 



By the end of the class, you should realise that every decision in rope is a compromise, and that the existing TK patterns are complete systems designed for the people and the contexts in which they are typically used.


This is a very important class for students who struggle with finding the right TK and need to deepen their understanding of the different types of logic and engineering available to them.
