What’s My Risk Profile? Pt 1
Part of Rebound Week! This session is making a special return until September 28.
Part 1: Risk and harm
Class type: Lecture and demo
Level: All levels
Duration: 80 minutes
Props: note-taking tools optional
Understanding and assessing risk is essential for navigating rope, play, and intimacy with confidence. In this two-part class, we explore personal risk profiles – how we each perceive and approach risk – and develop practical strategies for making informed, embodied choices. Through discussion and demo, and accompanied by tailored workbook exercises, we’ll cover physical, emotional, and social risks, as well as harm reduction and risk management approaches tailored to different needs and dynamics. Whether you’re new to risk assessment or looking to refine your decision-making skills, this class offers tools for self-awareness, communication, and safer exploration.
Part 1: Risk and Harm
Risk is an inevitable part of play, intimacy, and exploration – but how do we assess it in a way that aligns with our values and needs?
In this class, we’ll break down different types of risk, explore personal thresholds, community norms, and ways to navigate uncertainty. This session provides a foundation for understanding risk beyond simple “safe” or “unsafe” labels, helping you make more intentional, informed choices.
This class is led by Tut Bar, owner of Berlin’s KOR shibari and embodiment space, teaching together with kink educator and performer Saara Rei.

Such a bummer these amazing teachers aren’t mic’d individually. The audio is super hard to hear and since there’s no cc available, I’m having such difficulty receiving info from this series. 😢

We’re sorry to hear that and thank you for the feedback! We’re working hard this year to improve the production quality of our lives, including getting more mics to our intstructors. I’ve made a note of your feedback!

In response to @Una Tuna, that issue is really a take home message for this whole series of live/replay events. (But I do agree on this as well.)
