Yoko Tsuri | Side Suspension

Gorgone

In this class, Gorgone teaches a basic Yoko Tsuri (side suspension) with her model Franz.

She demonstrates a useful method to lift the body easily and smoothly using a pulley system and specific upline levels. Side suspensions are fairly comfortable for the model and are a good base to practice suspensions without too much stress.

In this class, Gorgone uses a Gun Slinger and her Misungui Harness but you can use any chest harness of your choice instead, bearing in mind that a TK would be more threatening for the nerves on the loaded side.

In the Misungui harness, it starts with tying the hands behind the back, but in this version, the hands are free. How do you start the Misungui without tying the hands first?

Hi! Great question! To start the Misungui without tying the wrists you would begin with a cuff at the waist line and then go directly over the shoulder from there, just like you would with the wrist cuff. When it comes time to build the waist cuff, you’ll already have rope there, so you can half hitch onto it and continue back up the body.
