M-Shape Suspension

Gestalta

In this video, Gestalta teaches a simple 'M-shape' suspension with their model Aleks.

This tie can be kept close to the ground as a partial suspension or lifted into a full suspension either by using a pulley or incrementally, as demonstrated in the class. This class is ideal for intermediate level students wanting to play with suspension in a safe and relaxing way, giving the opportunity to experiment with variations within the original structure.

For this tie, Gestalta is using their Spellbound TK but feel free to replace it with any chest harness of your choice. Recommended harnesses for safer suspensions include the Butterfly, Xana, Misungui and Fisherman harnesses.

For expert users who wish to spice things up and feel confident using more demanding upper-body structures, you can replace the TK with harnesses like a Strappado, Tengu or Teppo, for example. If you choose to increase the difficulty by using more challenging chest harnesses, we highly recommend first experimenting with a partial suspension before attempting to fully suspend.
